Teens and Career Choices

Being a teen is not easy, especially when you are constantly asked what you want to do after you have left school.  With the economic climate as it is today it’s getting harder to find a job and you could be feeling the pressure from peers, teachers and parents.

If you don’t know what direction to turn, it’s not the end of the world.  Many adults are never quite sure what they want to do until they hit their 20s.

Having the correct information and support when seeking career advice is more important so don’t be afraid to ask a careers advisor!

Whether it’s further education or full-time employment, it’s your choice, just make sure you have all the right information to make that choice.  Further education only enhances your chances of finding work and looks impressive to potential employers.  Fulltime work is also a positive step as it shows keenness to work and makes you more independent by “bringing in the money” and you learn from an early age how to adapt to life in the workforce.

Choosing a career doesn’t have to be hard, it just takes time to discover what you want to do.  Once you’ve decided, everything else will fall into place.
