Whatever you want to call them, baps, melons, jugs or breasts they come in all shapes and sizes, one might be bigger than the other or nipples may be dark or pale or have hair growing around them. Some women flaunt them, whiles other’s embarrassingly try to hide them. The male population love them, (well most males do), but breasts shouldn’t be used to leer or jeer at. This can be seen as highly offensive.
A girl start growing breasts when they are reaching puberty from 8 to 15. The area around the nipple (called the areola) swells and darkens and a breast bud develops underneath as the boobs start to grow. Tiny glands looking like bumps appear on the areola. Breasts are also used for producing milk to their babies and can also stick out when sexually aroused or cold.
Making the most of your boobs is important as we can’t change them, unless you have surgery. Breasts have no muscle, therefore wearing a bra helps to support them, especially in sport activities when they can get painful from all that running and jumping around and particularly if you do have big ones!
Choosing the right bra so that it fits comfortably is important and many high street stores offer a free measuring service. It can be quite an exciting experience as you are manifesting into a woman, but also a confusing time as hormones in the body can cause girls to have mood swings.
Being happy with your assets is important. Feeling confident with them is a sign of maturity and that you are growing into a beautiful young woman.
