Britney: I Don't Get Stressed Now I Take Good Care of Myself

Jan Jassen

Published on: June 11th, 2009

Britney's world tour hits the UK this week and we couldn't be more excited. And apparently, Britney feels the same way. 'She's determined to do the best on hertour in the UK,' says a friend. 'Last time she was here, a lot of people slated her performance [on TheX Factor in November2008] and she wants to make it up to her fans.'

Britney's in a good place right now. She's just come back from a week's holiday in the Caribbean with her family - her dad Jamie and sons Sean Preston, three and Jayden James, two and rumoured new boyfriend, her agent Jason Trawick.
Her sister Jamie Lynn even revealed last week that Britney and ex-husband Kevin Federline are now 'best friends' and that 'she knows how much he cares about the boys and he knows the same is true of her.'

more!'s Jan Janssen talks to a very happy Britney...

Hey Britney. How do you feel about your life right now?
Britney: I feel positive, I feel much happier, and things are looking good again. I'm learning to relax more and take everything in my stride, and to not place so much pressure on myself.

How does it feel to be performing your Circus album?
Britney: I’ve been through a lot and I'm really excited about my album. I feel like this is the best work I've done and I'm very proud of it. I've really enjoyed the process of putting this album together and it's been kind of therapeutic for me. Music is such a huge part of me.

Are all the songs personal to you?
Britney: I think this album speaks to people, especially women, very directly. For me, it's a very personal and deeply-felt set of songs, and I feel that I'm trying to express some of my feelings to people in a way that means more to me than just singing about different kinds of things.

Photos of you on holiday revealed that you're looking incredibly toned now.
What's your secret?
Britney: I used to be a workout freak, but after I had my kids it was a lot harder for me to get back into that routine. I used to love going to the gym but then as you get older and you have more responsibilities you lose that kind of discipline. Even nowI have a much harder time getting mentally psyched to train, but once I'm in the gym I start getting into it and I feel great.

How is your life different now that you're on tour?
Britney: I like going to bed early and getting up early. I just think ifs a much better way to live my life, especially when I have the kids - I need to have a lot of energy because they just have so much energy themselves!

And we've only seen you on a few night out with your dancers this time round..
Britney: I'm just not that into going out late at night or going to clubs anymore. It's the last thing I want to do with my life. I'm not interested in being with people who are looking to exploit me. I'm staying dos to my family and friends and living very peacefully. I need my energy for my children and my music. I want to show people that I'm a strong woman. I have a lot of great things ahead of me that I want to accomplish.

You seem very relaxed these days. How do you achieve that?
Britney: I'm learning to take better care of myself and not get stressed or down about things for nothing. I'm taking my time these days and not letting myself feel any pressure other than to just feel happy about myself and to work on my music.

Do you feel happy about your life now?
Britney: There are so many things that lam grateful for. I just want to make the most of this time in my life and build from there. It's a good feeling.
